We're calling it Cocktail Casual...

What is cocktail casual, you ask?  It's "cocktail attire" with a slightly funkier, casual flair.  Think comfortable, summer elegance.

However, this is absolutely NOT meant to tell you exactly what to wear.  We know you all will look wonderful in whatever creative outfits you come up with!  This section is more to give you a heads up on some aspects of our wedding in particular that might affect your wardrobe choices.  The ceremony will be outside on the bluff, and even though it's only 15 minutes long, you still might want to consider to following:

  • Choice of Shoe
-Shoes that won't sink into the grass during the ceremony.
-Shoes that you can dance in comfortably (because we WILL expect all-night dancing). :)
  • Layers
-The ceremony will be outside and on a warm evening, so jackets with ties and vests might be a bit uncomfortable in the heat.
-However, we will have a bonfire set up later in the evening, and the grounds are beautiful for an evening stroll, so warmer items might be nice once everything cools off.
  • Miscellaneous
- We would also recommend sunscreen, sunglasses, and/or fun summer hats (think Royal Wedding).  Again, even though the ceremony is incredibly short, it will be outside with no shade cover.

Because Kelsey likes to be helpful (or is just ridiculously anal-retentive and more than a bit obsessive), she's pulled together some outfit samples that you can use for creative inspiration if you think you need some ideas.
